Join Red Rock Audubon for our monthly birding event at Craig Ranch Park. It is the site of the former Craig Ranch Golf Course, which was saved from development by the City of North Las Vegas. The 170 acre park includes three ponds, numerous mature trees and some undeveloped areas. The park is a great birding location for beginners.  There are a variety of native and migrating birds to be seen and they are frequently easy to spot.

Scopes may be provided for shared use, based on availability.  A light pointer will be used as needed to show the approximate location of the birds. This event consists of walking around the park, most of which is on paved pathways however, a portion will be in the natural area on dirt paths.  We will walk approximately 2 miles in approximately 2 hours.

As always, when birding in our arid climate please remember to bring enough water, protection from the sun, and snacks as needed for yourself. Don’t forget your binoculars, camera, spare battery and any other birding accessories you may have. SHOES: your shoes may get wet due to large sprinklers and there is duck/goose poop along the paths so choose accordingly.

Curious what you might see? Craig Ranch Park is visited by birders regularly. Check out recent sightings on ebird:
