The Desert National Wildlife Refuge encompasses 1.6 million acres of protected habitat.  Corn Creek is a small oasis in the desert for migrating birds to stop and feed on the mulberries, pecans, pomegranates, and other fruit and berries found in the orchard as well as having water available in the pond and spring.  It is also the home to many of our native desert birds that live there year-round.  Over 300 species have been spotted here.

The trails are, for most part, easy to navigate, either paved or packed dirt.  Many areas are handicap-accessable.  Part of the walk will be in the Orchard, which is a grassy area near the fruit trees, frequently visited by many birds.

Registration is required.

The group will meet in front of the Visitor Center.

Please be sure to bring water and sun protection as it may be quite warm.
