Water In The Desert: Our Community's Strategy For A Sustainable Future

The Southern Nevada Water Authority and its member agencies have worked collaboratively since 1991 to ensure our community has a safe and reliable water supply that meets our community's needs for the foreseeable future. Over the past 22 years, ensuring a reliable water supply that meets our community's needs has been challenging due to rapid population growth and climate change-driven aridification of the Colorado River Basin. Zane will talk about the water management strategies his agency and the broader Las Vegas community are using to ensure a sustainable future.

Zane Marshall is the Director of Water Resources for the Southern Nevada Water Authority, where he has worked for the past 27 years. He leads the development and implementation of programs and policies related to environmental restoration and compliance, water conservation, climate change, and sustainability. Zane has a Masters of Arts in Science in Biology and Statistics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a 2014 graduate of the Kenan-Flagler Business School’s Water and Waste Water Leadership Center.
