Do you notice yourself feeling unhappy or disconnected from nature in the summer? If so, you're not alone. Join Red Rock Audubon's Morrigan DeVito for a Zoom lecture to learn about the effect hot temperatures have on our mental health and explore what that means for us living in a desert. It's harder to spend time outside in the summer in Las Vegas, but that doesn't mean we are separated from nature. Our summer heat teaches that it's okay to slow down and reminds us that we are resilient like the desert's lifeforms. At this presentation, you will learn about some ways to connect to nature indoors when it's too hot to go outside, as well as some tools for staying present in nature when you are outside. You will learn about some of the many ways that being in nature benefits our mental health and how to use mindfulness as a tool to stay open to the present moment. There will be time at the end for open discussion and questions.
