Join Red Rock Audubon for 2 days of birding on the California coast, Oct. 5-6!

Day 1 - Oct. 5 - will consist of birding in the Ventura area, along the coast and inland. In the morning, you will be birding in the Santa Clara River Estuary.  After lunch, you will be going to the Lake Casitas Recreation Area for the afternoon

Day 2 - Oct. 6 - will be an all day boat trip to see pelagic (open ocean) birds.  The boat trip is hosted by Island Packers (https://islandpackers.com/), a boating company that provides transportation to the Channel Islands and is located in Ventura, CA.  This is an exciting opportunity to see birds that are only seen on the open seas, such as Black-footed Albatross, Northern Fulmar, Leach’s Storm-Petrel; Pink-footed, Flesh-footed (rare), Sooty, & Buller’s Shearwater.  A pelagic bird guide will be onboard to provide information and help identify birds.
