Join Dave Anderson for a Zoom lecture on how to identify sandpipers and
other shorebirds. Each year, more than 25 species of shorebirds can be
seen in Las Vegas. Some shorebirds live here year round, but most are
only seen for a short period of time during spring and fall migration.
Learn the basic elements of shorebird identification as well as a few
tricks to differentiate these similar looking birds. This is part of the
preparation for the Intermountain West Shorebird Surveys, a
conservation initiative to record shorebird presence across the West.
You do not have to be taking part in the surveys to join, as this is in
conjunction with Red Rock Audubon's mission to educate people about
shorebirds in partnership with the volunteer_engagement_-
