The Warm Springs Natural Area, owned and managed by SNWA, is contains more than 2 dozen natural springs which form the head of the Muddy River. This 1250 acre area is a natural stop for many migratory birds and home to some of the most endangered fish, including the Moapa dace. It also provides a breeding area for the southwestern willow flycatchers and vermilion flycatchers. SNWA will provide a local guide to show us the flora, fauna and the natural springs in the area.
Registration: All participants must be registered. Registration is limited to 12.
Some of the trails are paved, others may be gravel or dirt. Because the springs are so close to the surface, some areas may be muddy. As always, when birding in our arid climate please remember to bring enough water, protection from the sun, and snacks as needed for yourself. Don’t forget your binoculars if you have them.
