A burrowing owl, a barn owl and a great horned owl met sad fates but somehow found their way to Red Rock Audubon. These unfortunate creatures are now teaching tools for us. Rob Vinson, Refuge Manager of the Pahranagat National Wildlife Refuge, does taxidermy as a hobby. He graciously mounted these awesome specimens at no cost to the chapter.
The owls can be found roosting at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve unless they are out and about spreading the word to the public about the part each owl plays in our ecosystem and the need to protect our environment for them and us. Many thanks to Rob for his work saving these beautiful birds.
