On Saturday September 22, 2018, about a year and a half after hatching, four California condors took flight off the Vermilion Cliffs and across the Arizona sky north of the Grand Canyon. The release raised the total number of the condors to 89 across Arizona and Utah.
Eight Red Rock Audubon members and guests joined hundreds of people in the valley below peered through binoculars and spotting scopes to watch the condors fly free. Later in the day, two Condors put on a synchronized flight display at the Navajo Bridge – Marble Canyon. What a wonderful experience. Seeing these majestic birds flying free again in their prehistoric territory. For more information please follow the link to the Arizona Republic article: https://amp.azcentral.com/amp/1406376002
