About 50 children and adults from the Clark County Park's Winchester Nesters took a field trip to the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve in January. Red Rock Audubon presents a program to this group once a month at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center but this time decided change things up a little. ![]() The weather was perfect. The participants, most of whom had never visited the Preserve, were excited to see so many birds not seen at the Center or in their own neighborhoods. Many expressed interest in coming back to the Preserve as more birds return to the Preserve with the change of seasons. The next Winchester Nester program will be a Great Backyard Bird Count! Please join RRAS volunteers February 15th at 10:30 am at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center to share the joy of observing birds. It is fun spending time with these children and opening their eyes to nature. Written by Nancy Chang
