DAVE ANDERSON
I started birding at the age of eight, which opened my eyes to the wonders of the natural world. The first outdoor activity I participated in after moving to Las Vegas in 2018 was a Red Rock Audubon bird walk. I was amazed by the bird diversity and the wonderful birders in Las Vegas. As Vice President, my goal is to share my knowledge and passion for birds and to mentor both young and experienced birders alike.
Treasurer

JENNIFER DUDEK
I joined the board of directors to contribute my accounting and organizational skills within an organization for which I believed in their mission and goals. I once heard the reference of ‘I came for the birds but stayed for the people’ and that couldn’t be true with my experience in being a general member and now a board member. I continue to be inspired by the community of people who join RRAS and are passionately making a difference in helping protect nature, which in turn protects the birds.
Secretary

KRISTEN DICHIARA
I joined the board because while birds can call and sing and chirp, they can't speak up for themselves or educate us humans about their wonders. Birds are endlessly fascinating, and the often-fragile habitat they rely on in the Red Rock Audubon area is constantly at risk. I wanted to join a team dedicated to spreading the word about these fascinating, intelligent, beautiful creatures, what they need to survive and the greater ecosystem that we are all a part of.
COMMITTEE CHAIRS & DIRECTORS
Education & Outreach Chair

MORRIGAN DEVITO
I joined the board of directors to give back to this wonderful community of birders and nature lovers, and of course to the birds themselves. I was born and raised in Henderson, but it wasn't until I saw a Snowy Egret at Clark County Wetlands Park in 2021 that I truly started paying attention to birds and the abundance of the desert. Birding made my life so much better, and sharing the joy of birding with others is one of my favorite ways to spend my time. As Education & Outreach Chair, I help create educational programs, volunteer opportunities, and community partnerships. I deeply believe that we can't protect birds and their habitats without first noticing, appreciating, and feeling like we are a part of nature-- education is the first step in that journey.
Birding Events Chair

MARK JOHNSON
As I was moving to the Las Vegas area, I signed up for a Red Rock Audubon Society bird walk. I loved learning about the birds, but what stood out most was the easy camaraderie—walking together, sharing discoveries, and learning from our guide along the way. Since then, I’ve joined many more walks and made lasting friendships through RRAS. I joined the board as Events Chair because I want to help create welcoming, accessible experiences for both new and seasoned birders, and to support a community where people feel connected and find a place they truly belong.
Bird Friendly Community Chair

ANDREA VILLANUEVA
I originally joined Red Rock Audubon as an AmeriCorps Service Member. As someone new to Vegas, it was a great way to get to know the local birds and community. Once my term finished, I wanted to join the board so I could continue engaging with the community and help folks feel more connected with birds.
Membership Chair

PREETI SCHATZMAN
My first birding walk EVER was with Red Rock Audubon Society at Sunset Park, where I not only discovered the joys of urban birding but met lifelong friends. As Membership Chair, I want every member to feel that same sense of welcome and connection that deepened my love for both birds and our community in ways I never could have imagined.
Conservation Chair

OLIVIA BURNS
I joined the RRA board because I care about our community and want to help protect the wildlife and land we all enjoy. Southern Nevada is a special place, and being part of RRA is a way to connect with others who feel the same and give back to the land that gives us so much.
